Health Improvement
The term "inequalities in health" refers to variations in health experience between different groups. Some groups experience poorer health than the majority of the population.
This is either due to life circumstances, for example living in poor housing or having low and fixed incomes, having few opportunities for leisure or social activities; or to discrimination arising from gender, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation or disability.
Physical Activity
Lack of physical activity is the 4th leading risk factor in early death. People who are not physically active enough for their health are more at risk compared to those who engage in at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity most days of the week.
Food and Health
Getting a healthy balanced diet helps us stay at a healthy weight and reduces the risks of developing illness like type 2 diabetes, some cancers, heart disease and stroke. Eating the right food gives us enough energy to stay fit and active and enjoy life.
