Rights Respecting Schools

The Rights Respecting Schools (RSS) Award encourages schools to incorporate the Unite Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child principles. All West Lothian schools either are or are becoming accredited after a lapse in 2020-22 during Covid-19.

If you attend a Rights Respecting School, you understand that participation is a right rather than a permission or a one-off event. There is no minimum age at which you can participate and younger children are offered appropriate support to play an increasingly informed role in school life.
